Sunday's message will be uploaded soon! Promise!
We spent the weekend at Spring Hill with 20 of our JrHi students - and about 800 of someone else's JrHi students. I can't explain why, but the place chose to serve bean burritos for lunch on Saturday. It's because Spring Hill hates me.* Other than that, it was a fantastic weekend.
* I don't actually believe that's true. But every time I go, I do come back sick.
The speaker was a skinny dude from California, and in his last session he lit up a candle. He talked about how we were supposed to be the light of the world, and that was great. But I couldn't help but notice that in a fully-lighted auditorium, it was almost impossible to see the light eminating from one tiny candle.
But if they cut the electricty? If they pulled the shade? If the sun disappeared in some kind of cosmic eclipse? Well, then you'd notice that candle. You'd notice it, you'd be drawn to it, you would desperately, desperately need it.
I think Christians can be at their best when the world is at its worst. Look around. Is this your moment to shine brightest?
